Mod Mum Sizing Chart

Find your perfect size

Please take the time to review this size chart to ensure that you order the correct size of Mod Mum sling.

Tips for finding your perfect size:
  • A good place to start when sizing for a baby sling, is with your fitted t-shirt size. Typically it will be the same as your sling size.
  • Another easy method to sizing is to take your shoulder to hip measurement. Using a soft measuring tape, start at the outer edge of your shoulder and measure diagonally across your body to the top of your opposite hip bone. Use this measurement to determine your size in the sizing chart above.
  • If you are pregnant and showing, measure across your back instead.
  • If you are in-between sizes, size down.
  • Your sling is too small if it feels uncomfortably tight and it is extremely difficult to get your baby in and out of the sling.
  • Your sling is too big if it slips off your shoulder, your back hurts after a short amount of time or your baby doesn't feel secure.
  • For your comfort and the safety of your baby, our sling should be worn at the naval. If you feel your baby is sitting to low/high, please contact us to exchange for a different size.
  • If you have any questions regarding sizing, please contact us at customercare@shopbabytree.com.

How to wear our slings

Cradle Carry

  2. Place baby between the layers, starting with baby’s bottom
  3. Gently lay baby’s head down in the sling
  4. Check to ensure child is safely in the fold, by pulling up the fabric layer closest to you

Front Carry
2-8 Months (Appropriate for children who can control their head)
  1. Fold sling in half and place over your shoulder with seam at the center of your body
  2. Facing Out: Fold baby’s legs and place baby, bottom first, between the layers
  3. Side Facing: Place baby, bottom first into the sling, with baby’s bottom on seam
  4. Check to ensure child is safely in the fold, by pulling up the fabric layer closest to you

Hip Carry
6 Months + (Up to 35 lb)
  1. Fold sling in half and place over your shoulder with seam over your hip
  2. Unfold fabric at hip and place baby’s bottom in between the layers of fabric. Seam should be in line with baby’s spine. Pull the seam to the back of baby’s knees. For younger babies, pull fabric up over baby’s shoulders. Keep one hand on your baby until secure.
